How I Can Help

Public History Projects

My years in the Ohio History Service Corps gave me a wide range of experience working on projects for museums and history organizations from conducting an Accessibility Assessment for a complex of historic buildings and accompanying educational programs... to researching and re-designing to museum tours... to training volunteers in using software for museum collections management. In addition to those types of projects, I am available to assist with:

  • grant-writing and prospect research
  • social media management training
  • oral history projects
  • genealogical research
  • coaching in the StEPS program through AASLH

Writing

In both my own teaching experience and my experiences with academic colleagues, I've gained considerable insight into what it takes to bring written work from inception to completion.  If you're seeking writing help, academic or otherwise, I'm available to assist with:

  • brainstorming ideas and identifying critical questions
  • structuring an essay or article
  • grammar and copy-editing
  • coaching and strategies for long-term projects like theses or dissertations
  • tutoring high school and university students

Art History

My own academic work concerns nineteenth-century French painting and gender studies, but I am available for a range of art historical topics and tasks, including:

  • art historical research and bibliographic recommendations
  • creating educational content about art historical topics
  • writing essays, catalogue texts, or website materials for working artists
